Standard and Finned Weatherstripping, Weatherpile or Brush Pile

Reddipile weatherstripping products are manufactured from multi-filament polypropylene siliconised yarn. Our products are rigorously tested by our own test laboratory and those of British Standards and Building Services Research & Information Association. They conform to all relevant standards for performance.

Types of product
• Standard pile weatherstrip
• Finned weatherstrip
• Superfin (fin extended to 1mm above the pile fibres)
• Self adhesive backed weatherstrip. (Also provided in 5 metre pre-packed form for the DIY markets)
• Fringe products (for roller shutters, blinds etc)
• Self adhesive dust plugs (for use where there are large gaps to be bridged)

Applications
• PVCU, aluminium, timber windows and doors.
• Intumescent & Smoke seals.
• Pre-packed product for the DIY market and multiple stores.
• Retrofit draught-proofing (specifier, local authority).
• Anti-rattle and dust seals for the furniture industry.
• Fly Screens and Roller Blinds.

Typical applications for pile weatherstrip include secondary glazing, horizontal or vertical sliding windows, shutters and patio doors.

Durability
Sliding seals above all others require a unique resilience because of the various directional forces which they are subjected to. Polypropylene is well suited to cope with this aggressive requirement.

Water repellent
Our products are woven from yarn which has been impregnated with silicone, thus offering an additional barrier against water absorption.

Weather resistant
Polypropylene is chemically inert and compatible with all window frame materials. The yarn is extremely durable and highly resistant to abrasion, ozone and biological attack. The pile is UV stabilised to minimise the effects of ultra violet light.

Sizes and dimensions
Pile heights vary between 3mm and 15mm generally in increments of 0.5mm. Alternative sizes can be produced as special orders.

Tolerances
Backing + 0.1mm.
Height = + 0.250mm - 0.125mm

Fringe products
Fringe weatherstrip is ideal for roller shutters, blinds, folding products and those which require narrow profiles.

100% polypropylene - durable and cost effective.

Fringe products are particularly useful in applications where finger protection is required.

Types of groove
The grooves shown are typically those used. Any requirement for variations in product should be referred to our technical staff who will advise on alternative options.

Recommended compression ratios
Standard pile = 20 - 25%
Finned pile = 10 - 15%
Super fin = 5 - 10%
(+1mm)

Note: All measurements should be calculated from the base of retention groove to the opposing face.

Warning - too great a compression will serve to reduce the efficiency of pile products.
