JSC Minsky Avtomobilny Zavod (MAZ)
In addition to functionality, profiles also need to be aesthetically pleasing, this was best highlighted through our work with JSC Minsky Avtomobilny Zavod (MAZ), one of the largest automotive manufacturers in Eastern and Central Europe.
MAZ required a decorative cover strip that would be clipped into an aluminium drain section that runs along the surface of the bus chassis. To accommodate this, we introduced a post extrusion embossing machine that rolls the desired pattern onto the profile. It was important that the profile would run continually along the length of the bus.
MAZ supplies buses from Russia to Cuba meaning the profile needed to accommodate a varying range of temperatures. This was achieved by extruding the profile from a material that is resilient to both frost and ultraviolet rays, guaranteeing stability of the profile.
Albert Jagger Limited
Reddiplex are continually working with innovative companies in the development of pioneering design solutions that utilise our knowledge and expertise in the latest generation of polymers.
Through our experience in the extrusion of a wide range of complex materials we were able to assist Albert Jagger Limited in the exclusive manufacture of Centaflex a stylish; one piece, continuous hinge profile.
The use of a flexible plastic comprising of a patented blend of polyester elastomers co-extruded with rigid PVC formed a profile that combines the high strength of engineering resins with excellent flexibility at extreme temperature variances. The co-extrusion ensured the two materials fuse at the point of interface forming a single profile that is extremely durable and resilient.
The Centaflex Continuous Hinge is an example of the innovation in the vehicle industry of Albert Jagger Limited and our knowledge of material and extrusion technology.
Comar – Farnborough Airport Business and Aviation Centre.
Our ability to extrude a wide range of flexible, rigid and rubber profiles has allowed us to work in conjunction with Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems to form a strong partnership to continually develop enhanced performance curtain walling systems such as the Comar 6 system.
The Comar 6 system has been used in wide range of applications, including Farnborough Airport – Britain’s most modern business airport.
The flexible design of Comar 6 makes it ideal for complex facetted curtain walls as well as sheer glazed facades. In the terminal, Comar 6 spans the first and second floors incorporating three metre high panes of 6mm toughened glass.
The use of the Comar 6 system contributed to the terminals elegant and minimalist appearance.
Lewmar Marine
Lewmar Marine is one of the leading marine equipment manufacturers in the world. Through our expertise in advanced extrusion technologies, we were able to manufacture their pioneering new sealing system. This system is a complex design that is not only entirely leak proof but also allows easy acrylic replacement.
The sealing system is a highly specialist profile as it integrates both solid EPDM and Sponge into a single profile. Co-extrusion ensures that both materials can be accommodated and formed as a single profile which, under the conditions of use specified, will not separate.
This innovative sealing system is used in Lewmar low and medium profile hatches. Both of which are suitable for use in powerboats, sailboats and yachts.
